The Board president will call the meeting to order and note Board member attendance.
The Caroline County Board of Education will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. The public may attend in person or view the meeting via livestream.
The regular Board meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. only for the purpose of voting to close its meeting pursuant to the State Government article (Section 3-305 (1,7,9)) (1) to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals; to discuss the various personnel agenda items on the personnel agenda and other personnel matters from the last month, (7) to consult with counsel to obtain legal advice on board vacancy and inform about pending litigation, (9) to conduct collective bargaining negotiations or consider matters that relate to the negotiations with CCEA.
The public portion of the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. when the Board reconvenes in public session.

The following students were named as Carson Scholars for 2024:
Carson Scholars Fund scholarship program awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities. Students must attend an accredited K-12 school in the United States and be nominated by an educator at their school to be able to compete for a Carson Scholarship. In order for a student to be eligible for the award, they must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher and participate in community service activities.

The members of the Caroline County Board of Education desire to hear the views and have the advice of interested citizens. The public comment session is held at each Board meeting for that purpose.
In-Person Public Comment - The time allotted for the Public Comment portion of the agenda is no more than 30 minutes total. The Board of Education does not engage in a discussion of the matter being brought to it but will, if appropriate, direct the Superintendent to respond at a later time.
Individuals interested in participating during the Public Comment portion may sign up in advance by emailing publiccomment@ccpsstaff.org or by signing in at the podium prior to the beginning of the meeting. Individuals will be called to the podium in the order in which they registered by email or sign-in.

In order to ensure safe, efficient, and effective school operations it is essential that the school system fill the vacant position due to the retirement of Ms. Carmen Milligan as of July 1, 2024.
The Future Farmers of America members will attend the State FFA Convention in McHenry, MD from June 23 - 26, 2024. The 12 students attending the convention will participate in workshops related to the agriculture industry.
446th session of General Assembly will convene January 10 - April 8, 2024.
The next meeting is a work session on April 16, 2024.
