[1. Opening Items]
WELCOME, EVERYBODY, TO THE THURSDAY, JULY 13TH, 2023, MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION.WE MOVED OUR MEETING TO TODAY FOR REASONS I'LL EXPLAIN IN A MINUTE.
OR JUST NICE COOPERATION BY EVERYBODY TO TRY TO MAKE THIS WORK.
I'LL TALK ABOUT THAT IN MORE DETAIL ONCE WE OPEN.
DO I HAVE A MOTION TO OPEN THE MEETING? I MOVE THAT WE OPEN.
SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR? AYE. MOTION CARRIES.
SO WE'LL START WITH THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.
THANK YOU. SO WE HAD TO WE WERE SEEKING TO MOVE THE MEETING FROM OUR USUAL TUESDAY TIME SLOT BECAUSE OF A COUPLE OF SCHEDULE CONFLICTS FOR MYSELF AND ALSO FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT.
AND I APPRECIATE THE BOARD MEMBERS WILLINGNESS TO ADAPT AND ADJUST.
I KNOW IT'S DIFFERENT AND AGAIN, MUCH APPRECIATED AND DONNA WAS UNABLE TO ACCOMMODATE THAT SHIFT, BUT SHE WAS VERY GENEROUS IN SAYING, YOU KNOW, NOT DEMANDING THAT SHE BE INVOLVED.
SHE SAID, GO AHEAD, IT'S FINE.
SO WE REALLY APPRECIATE HER FLEXIBILITY HERE.
SO DONNA'S ABSENCE IS NOT BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T CARE.
IT'S BECAUSE WE SHIFTED THE MEETING TO A TIME AND DAY THAT DIDN'T REALLY WORK FOR HER AT ALL.
SO WE DO HAVE A BRIEF AGENDA, BUT A VERY IMPORTANT ONE.
DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE AGENDA? SO MOVED. SECOND.
SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR? AYE. MOTION CARRIES AND WE CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH OUR AGENDA.
AND WE NORMALLY, AT THIS POINT DO A BOARD MEMBERS REPORT.
[2. Reports]
I DON'T THINK WE SUBMITTED ANYTHING.THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT WENT ON THAT YOU MAY HAVE ATTENDED.
I ATTENDED A SESSION VIRTUAL, AND IT WAS IT WAS VERY GOOD.
ON BOARD OF ED SELF-EVALUATION AS WELL AS BOARD OF ED SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATIONS.
I THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING THAT BECAUSE THAT IS AN IMPORTANT SESSION.
ANYTHING ELSE? I RAN INTO JIM, OUR PREVIOUS BOARD MEMBER, RECENTLY.
HE ATTENDED THE GRADUATION AT COLONEL RICHARDSON HIGH SCHOOL.
HE SENT A MICHELE DID A WONDERFUL JOB.
HE WANTED TO KNOW THAT. AND HE WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT HE SAYS HI AND SENDS HIS REGARDS.
TROY. ANYTHING YOU WANT TO ADD? YEAH, I WAS ABLE TO ACTUALLY ATTEND SOME OF THE COUNTY'S ALL-STAR SOFTBALL GAMES IN JUNE AND HOPEFULLY BE THERE AGAIN TONIGHT AS WELL.
SO HOPEFULLY WE'LL HAVE THAT IN FEDERALSBURG AND IT WILL BE DONE SOON.
AND THAT'S ABOUT THE ONLY THING I HAVE.
YEAH, I SAW THAT THE MATERIALS AT NORTH CAROLINA AND THE PARKING LOT AND SAW THE ACTIVITY THEY WERE WORKING ON A WEEKEND WHEN I WENT BY RECENTLY AND ALL THOSE MATERIALS ON THE PARKING LOT.
AND I'M SURE THAT THEY WILL OR THEY'LL DO WHAT THEY HAVE TO TO ACCOMMODATE THE OPENING OF SCHOOL.
SO. MR. BARTON THAT I'LL JUMP IN IF I CAN.
BOTH ROOF PROJECTS ARE MOVING ALONG REALLY WELL, EVEN DESPITE THE RAIN MOVING ALONG REALLY WELL.
THE GYM FLOOR PROJECTS ARE MOVING ALONG REALLY WELL AT THE SCHOOLS.
WE DID OUR BEST TO TRY TO SELL THEM.
FOLKS FOUND OUT IT WAS REALLY EXPENSIVE TO MOVE THEM.
THE PRICE WAS RIGHT TO GET IT, NOT TO GET THEM OUT OF THERE.
SO NOT BEING ABLE TO GET MANY OF THEM OUT OF THERE TO BE TO BE SOLD, WE MADE THE DECISION TO GO AHEAD AND JUST DEMO THEM, GET THEM OUT, AND THEY SHOULD BE ALL CLEANED UP AND OFF SITE BY FRIDAY.
SO LOCKERMAN WILL BE CLEANED UP AS WELL.
BUT THINGS ARE MOVING ALONG REALLY WELL ON THAT FRONT.
THANK THE BOARD FOR ALLOWING US TO MOVE THE MEETING.
[00:05:05]
AND I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR WILLINGNESS TO LET ME BE THERE AS A AS A DAD.BUT THANK YOU GUYS VERY MUCH FOR THAT.
WELL, I THINK WE ALL WOULD AGREE YOU'RE A BETTER SUPERINTENDENT IF YOU'RE A GREAT DAD.
THIS MAY NOT COME ALONG AGAIN.
AND SO WE'RE REALLY PLEASED THAT YOU'RE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.
AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S A LIGHT MONTH ANYWAY FOR US.
IT'S WHO THEY ARE, IT'S WHAT THEY LOVE AND CARE ABOUT THAT'S VERY HARD TO LET GO.
AND SO THAT MOMENT, THAT TIME CAN BE SUPER EMOTIONAL, ALMOST STRESSFUL.
AND THEN YOU KIND OF PUT ON THE SPOT TO COMMENT ABOUT YOUR REACTION TO IT.
AND SO THEY THEY WERE THE RETIREES WERE WONDERFUL.
THEIR FAMILIES, I THINK EVERY ONE OF THEM HAD FAMILY THERE.
AND IT WAS JUST SUCH A NICE GATHERING.
AND THE COMMENTS MADE BY COWORKERS ABOUT PEOPLE THEY WORK WITH.
I THINK IT'S THE ONLY TIME I EVER SAW A RETIREE WHO HONORED ANOTHER RETIREE AND THEN AND THEN WAS PUT ON THE SPOT THAT THEY WERE RETIRING AND THEY WERE MORE TOUCHED BY HONORING THEIR COWORKER THAN WHEN IN THE SPOTLIGHT WAS ON THEM, WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE AND SAYS A LOT ABOUT THAT WAS IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT HER.
I DON'T WANT TO GO ON AND ON ABOUT IT ALTHOUGH I COULD BUT I WON'T.
[3. Consent Agenda]
ALL RIGHT. SO WE CAN NOW MOVE INTO CONSENT AGENDA.WE HAVE PERSONNEL ITEMS. DR. WILLOUGHBY, PRESIDENT BARTON, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, DR.
AND THEN THE ADDENDUM INCLUDES FOUR ADDITIONAL RESIGNATIONS.
ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
DO WE VOTE ON I SHOULD REMEMBER, WE VOTE ON CONSENT AGENDA.
ALL RIGHT. SO WE ALSO HAVE MINUTES FROM JUNE'S MEETING AND ALSO WOULD BE THE JUNE 6TH MEETING AND ALSO THE THE MEETING OF JUNE 15TH.
DO WE HAVE ANY CORRECTIONS TO THESE MINUTES? I MOVE THAT THE MINUTES BE ADOPTED? WELL, WE SHOULD VOTE FOR THE WHOLE CONSENT AGENDA.
OKAY. YOU GOOD WITH THAT? THAT MOTION. GOOD WITH THAT.
ALL RIGHT. DO WE HAVE A SECOND TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA? ALL IN FAVOR? AYE. MOTION CARRIES FOUR ZERO.
DO WE HAVE ANY RECOGNITIONS? DARN, IT MUST BE SUMMER.
ANY PUBLIC COMMENT? AGAIN, IT MUST BE SUMMER.
AND NOW WE MOVE INTO THE INDIVIDUAL ACTION ITEMS AND SOME ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENTS.
[6. Individual Action Items]
REALLY EXCITED TO HEAR ABOUT THESE.GREAT. THANK YOU, MR. BARTON. IT BRINGS ME GREAT PLEASURE.
WE'LL TAKE THEM IN THE ORDER THAT'S UP HERE.
I DO WANT TO NOTE THAT IF SOMEONE IS NOT PRESENT WITH US TONIGHT OR THIS AFTERNOON, MORNING.
SO WE'RE BEING MORNING BOARD MEETING.
IT'S JUST MEETING BEING IN THE MORNING AND SOME FOLKS HAVING VACATION AND OTHER THINGS TO ARRANGE.
AND WE'RE THRILLED THOSE WHO CAN BE HERE.
BUT WE'LL RECOGNIZE EACH ONE AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND TALK ABOUT THEM.
SO THE FIRST ONE UP, WE HAD THE POSITION OPEN UP AT LOCKERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH MR. GROSS RESIGNATION AND THE CANDIDATE THAT'S COMING BEFORE THE BOARD TODAY IS SOMEBODY WHO IS NOT A STRANGER TO THE BOARD.
MRS. NECESSARY HAS BEEN A FANTASTIC ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL.
[00:10:02]
SHE HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROMISING PRINCIPALS ACADEMY FOR THE STATE OF MARYLAND.SHE IS CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF THE EXPERT REVIEW TEAM, WHICH WILL BE PART OF THE TEAM THAT GOES INTO SCHOOL SYSTEMS LOOKING AT HOW THEY'RE DOING AND IMPLEMENTING BLUEPRINT COMPONENTS. SHE IS A FORMER LEAD TEACHER OR SORRY, FORMER MASTER TEACHER.
SHE HAS BEEN A INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST IN LITERACY AND A NEIGHBORING COUNTY BEFORE COMING TO US.
MR. SPIKER HAS GIVEN HER A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN EVERY FACET IN THE AP ROLE.
THEY'VE SWITCHED RESPONSIBILITIES AT DIFFERENT TIMES BECAUSE JEANINE HAS JUST DONE A GREAT JOB TO MAKE SURE SHE UNDERSTANDS ALL THE ALL THE COMPONENTS BEFORE MOVING INTO PRINCIPAL. MRS. NECESSARY IS ACTUALLY ONE OF OUR ONLY ADMINISTRATORS THAT IS ALSO A NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED TEACHER AND SHE HAS MAINTAINED THAT PIECE AS AN ADMINISTRATOR AND SHE LITERALLY HAS HIT THE GROUND RUNNING AT LOCKERMAN.
SHE WILL DO A FANTASTIC JOB AND SHE LIVES IN OUR COMMUNITY AS WELL.
SO SHE IS DEFINITELY COMMITTED TO THE SUCCESS OF LOCKERMAN AND NOBODY IS MORE READY TO TAKE THE HELM THERE THAN MRS. NECESSARY. SHE WILL DO A FANTASTIC JOB LEADING LOCKERMAN, SO I ASK FOR HER APPROVAL AS PRINCIPAL OF LOCKERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL.
YOU HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT? MOTION. WE APPROVE. WE HAVE A SECOND.
SECOND. ALL IN FAVOR? AYE, AYE, AYE. MOTION CARRIES.
OUTSTANDING. I DIDN'T ASK IF THERE WAS ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION, BUT I KIND OF THOUGHT THERE WASN'T.
SINCE WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
IT'S A GREAT APPOINTMENT. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.
WE'LL FIGURE OUT HOW TO HANDLE THE PICTURE PIECE WHEN MRS. MISERY COMES BACK AND YOU KNOW THE APPOINTMENT.
SO OUR NEXT APPOINTMENT THAT COMES BEFORE THE BOARD THIS MORNING IS ALSO AT LOCKERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL.
AND WE HAD AN ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL POSITION COME OPEN AT LOCKERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH THE RESIGNATION OF MRS. MILKMAN AND THE INDIVIDUAL THAT'S COMING BEFORE THE BOARD FOR THEIR APPOINTMENT COULD NOT BE HERE TODAY BECAUSE HE'S WORKING IN THE COUNTY WHERE HE'S COMING FROM, FINISHING UP RESPONSIBILITIES THERE AND THAT IS MR. RONDELL SORREL.
PRIOR TO THAT, HE WAS AN ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL IN TALBOT COUNTY.
MR. SORREL HAS ACTUALLY HAS WORKED WITH MRS. NECESSARY PREVIOUSLY IN A NEIGHBORING COUNTY WHEN BOTH OF THEM WERE INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES, HAS A STRONG INSTRUCTIONAL COACH BACKGROUND AND MATHEMATICS.
ANOTHER CHILD THAT WILL BE COMING THROUGH AND IN OUR CONVERSATION PRIOR TO OFFERING HIM THE POSITION, VERY COMMUNITY CENTERED, VERY COMMUNITY FOCUSED AND WANTS TO BE MORE INVOLVED, BEING SOMEONE WHO LIVES HERE AND TO GIVE BACK TO HIS COMMUNITY.
THAT LITERALLY, AS HE JOKED AND SAID HE COULD BIKE TO WORK.
I SAID, WE HAVE AN ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT THAT DOES THAT SOMETIMES TOO.
YOU GUYS COULD BIKE TOGETHER, BUT MR. SORREL WILL DO A WONDERFUL JOB AT LOCKERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL TO COMPLIMENT AND ROUND OUT THAT TEAM.
AND AS I SAID, HE WOULD BE HERE TODAY WITH US IF HE COULD.
BUT HE IS TRYING TO CLOSE OUT HIS RESPONSIBILITIES IN KENT COUNTY FOR COMING HERE.
THAT SAYS A LOT ABOUT AND HONORING HIS COMMITMENT.
DO WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? A MOTION TO APPROVE.
I'LL MAKE A MOTION. CAN WE HAVE A SECOND? A SECOND, AND THIS TIME I'LL ASK ANY DISCUSSION.
FURTHER DISCUSSION. ALL RIGHT.
ALL IN FAVOR? AYE, AYE. MOTION CARRIES FOUR ZERO.
ANOTHER EXCELLENT APPOINTMENT.
SO NOW WE'LL GET TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE ROOM.
THEN SANDY WILL TELL US IF WE'RE GOING TO DO PICTURES ONE AT A TIME OR IF WE'LL DO THEM AFTERWARDS.
WE'LL FIGURE THAT OUT. BUT THERE WILL BE PICTURES.
SO GLAD YOU GUYS DIDN'T DRESS IN SUMMER ATTIRE.
DEFINITELY. WELL, WELL APPRECIATED.
LAST MONTH, THE BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. JARED SHERMAN AS PRINCIPAL OF COLONEL RICHARDSON HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH THEN OPENED THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL POSITION THROUGH THE INTERVIEW PROCESS CHAIRED BY MR. SHERMAN. THE TOP CANDIDATE COMING FROM THAT SELECTION PROCESS WAS MR. THOMAS MILLS, TREY MILLS, WHO WAS WITH US TODAY.
MR. MILLS IS COMING TO US WITH EXPERIENCE IN DORCHESTER COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
[00:15:05]
HE HAS BEEN A SCIENCE TEACHER AT NORTH DORCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL.HE HAS SERVED AS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY ADVISOR.
HE HAS BEEN THE BUILDING REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE LOCAL ASSOCIATION.
HE'S BEEN IN INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAM MEMBER, PLC CO-CHAIR, SCHOOL TEST ADMINISTRATOR.
HE HAS ALSO AND I'M SORRY WE'RE STEALING THIS FROM DORCHESTER.
HE HAS ALSO BEEN THEIR COUNTY TEACHER OF THE YEAR IN SPEAKING WITH THEIR SUPERINTENDENT TO LET THEM KNOW WE WERE CONSIDERING MR. MILLS BECAUSE WHAT WE TRY TO DO WITH SUPERINTENDENTS TO GIVE PEOPLE A HEADS UP, WE JUST TALKED ABOUT HOW MR. MILLS WAS DEFINITELY ON THE TRAJECTORY TO BE AN ADMINISTRATOR THERE.
HE WAS DEFINITELY IN OUR PIPELINE TO FILL A ROLE THERE.
WHEN ONE BECAME AVAILABLE AND WE JUST WE BEAT THEM TO IT.
I'LL I'LL BE NICE TO MR. BROMWELL ABOUT IT, BUT WE HAPPILY BEAT THEM TO IT.
AND WE'RE GLAD THAT MR. MILLS WILL BE ABLE TO COME ON BOARD AT COLONEL RICHARDSON HIGH SCHOOL.
I THINK HE'LL BE A GREAT ADDITION.
AND MR. SHERMAN DID SHARE ALSO IN CONVERSATIONS THAT THEY'VE HAD BOTH AT THE INTERVIEW AND SINCE.
MR. MILLS YOUR PREPARATION COMING IN AND REALLY UNDERSTANDING THE COMMUNITY.
AND HE FEELS THAT YOU GUYS WILL MAKE AN ABSOLUTE STRONG TEAM TO REALLY RAISE.
COLONELS GOT A GREAT FOUNDATION.
THINGS ARE GOING REALLY WELL, BUT YOU GUYS WILL ABLE TO REALLY RAISE IT TO THAT NEXT LEVEL.
SO WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE AND I ASK THE BOARD TO APPROVE MR. MILLS APPOINTMENT. ALL RIGHT, BOARD MEMBERS, ANY QUESTIONS? WE HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE.
SECOND MOTION. SECOND MOTION SECOND.
CONGRATULATIONS. ANOTHER EXCELLENT APPOINTMENT.
CONGRATULATIONS. WELCOME, MISS BARRY.
HOW DO YOU WANT TO DO THIS? IF YOU. I THINK WE JUST HAVE ONE MORE AFTER THIS, RIGHT? YEP. YOU CAN DO BOTH.
OKAY. DON'T WANT TO MAKE HER SWEAT, BUT THAT WAY, THE BOARD.
AS THE BOARD RECALLS AND RESTRUCTURING THE CENTRAL OFFICE IN THE AREA, WE ADDED THE SUPERVISOR OF DATA AND RESEARCH, AND WE REARRANGED SORT OF THE LOCAL ACCOUNTABILITY COORDINATOR POSITION AND WE HAVE WORKED TO TO FILL THAT.
WE HAD A VERY ROBUST APPLICANT POOL AND A STRONG INTERVIEW TEAM.
AND OUR CANDIDATE COMING BEFORE YOU TODAY AND I'M THRILLED ABOUT IS MS..
MISSY BUTLER, NO STRANGER TO THE BOARD, NO STRANGER TO OUR COMMUNITY, ABSOLUTELY THRILLED TO TO KNOW THAT, MISSY, WITH THE BOARD'S APPROVAL, WE'LL BE COMING BACK HOME TO CAROLINE COUNTY.
MISSY WAS A TEACHER IN THE COUNTY.
AS I LEARNED EARLIER, YOU WERE MR. PLUTCHIK'S TEACHER.
MISSY WAS AN OUTSTANDING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL.
OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL IN THIS COUNTY.
MISSY HAS BEEN DOING WORK IN KENT COUNTY AS WELL, DOING FANTASTIC WORK THERE.
I REMEMBER NOT TO TELL TOO MANY TALES.
I REMEMBER MISSY REALLY WANTING THIS POSITION YEARS AGO, AND I REMEMBER SITTING THERE THEN AND GOING, WOW, IN TERMS OF JUST KNOWLEDGE, PREPARATION, SKILL SET LIKE.
AND SEEING IT COME BACK AROUND FOR THE OPPORTUNITY.
I HAVE NO DOUBT MISSY WILL DO A MRS BUTLER WILL DO A WONDERFUL JOB IN THIS POSITION.
IT WILL BE AN ABSOLUTE ASSET TO CAROLINE COUNTY TO BRING HER BACK HOME.
I'M SURE SHE'S JUST AS HAPPY TO BE HERE, BUT I'M THRILLED KNOWING THAT SHE WILL BE BACK WITH US.
STRONG CONNECTIONS IN THE COMMUNITY, STRONG CONNECTIONS WITH SEVERAL OF OUR ADMINISTRATORS AND WITH OUR TEACHERS, KNOWING THAT WHAT SHE WILL BE ABLE TO DO, WORKING WITH TARA AND THE INSTRUCTIONAL TEAM, WORKING WITH MELISSA UNDER DATA AND RESEARCH AS WELL, US BEING ABLE TO COME TOGETHER WILL REALLY HELP BRING US BACK TO A DATA FOCUSED SCHOOL SYSTEM AND GET OUR SYSTEMS BACK IN ALIGNMENT AND PUT THE TOOLS IN OUR TEACHERS HANDS THAT THEY NEED IN OUR DAILY BASIS.
SO I AM EXCITED TO BRING MISSY TO YOU TODAY FOR HER APPOINTMENT AS.
THANK YOU. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENT? YEAH, ABSOLUTELY.
[00:20:02]
WELCOME BACK. DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE? SO MOVE. SECOND.ALL RIGHT. ALL IN FAVOR? AYE, AYE, AYE.
CONGRATULATIONS, BOTH OF YOU, BACK.
DO YOU WANT TO JUST CLOSE OUT, FINISH OUT THE REST OF THE MEETING AND THEN.
YES. SO THE NEXT ACTION ITEM FOR THE BOARD IS AN APPOINTMENT THAT TO A LEGAL SERVICES POSITION.
SO MABE HAS A PANEL OR COMMITTEE THAT DEALS WITH LEGAL SERVICES ISSUES THAT POP UP.
OUR CHAIR OR OUR DIRECTOR OF THAT IS DR.
WILLOUGHBY. TYPICALLY IT IS YOUR HR PERSON WHO IS YOUR CHAIR.
PREVIOUSLY IT WAS HELD BY MRS. ANTHONY, AND WITH TWIG'S RETIREMENT, THAT POSITION DOES COME VACATED AND I'M ASKING THE BOARD TO SUPPORT THE APPOINTMENT OF DR.
TARA DOWNS INTO THE ROLE OF THE IS IT THE ASSISTANT I THINK IS WHAT THEY CALL IT.
YEAH. THE ASSISTANT OR ALTERNATE DIRECTOR.
AND THEN OF COURSE, IF ROB CAN'T MAKE ANY OF THE MEETINGS, TARA GOES ON HIS BEHALF.
SO I ASKED FOR HER APPROVAL AS THE ALTERNATE DIRECTOR.
THANK YOU. ANOTHER HAT TO WEAR? YEAH, IT'S AN INTERESTING HAT.
I'VE WORN IT AS WELL. IT'S AN INTERESTING HAT.
DO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE? WE HAVE A SECOND. SECOND.
ALL RIGHT. CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE NEW HAT.
ALL RIGHT. SO THAT'S ALL OF OUR INDIVIDUAL ACTION ITEMS. DO YOU WANT TO WAIT TILL THE END OF THE MEETING FOR PHOTOS? DO YOU WANT TO DO THEM NOW? IT'S FINE. WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? YOU'VE GOT UPCOMING MEETINGS.
THAT'S KIND OF IT. YEAH, I'LL FINISH IT UP.
WE HAVE A LOT OF REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS.
NO, WE DON'T. DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR FUTURE BOARD MEMBERS.
NOTHING THERE. UPCOMING MEETINGS AND EVENTS.
[9. Upcoming Meetings and Events]
I WOULD LIKE TO BRING UP ONE.OKAY. ON JULY 22ND, FROM 12 TO 5 IS THE LOCKERMAN SCHOOL ASSOCIATION DAY.
IT'S HELD AT LOCKERMAN AND ANYONE'S PRESENCE I KNOW WOULD BE WELCOME.
AND I WILL SAY THAT THEY GAVE TEN SCHOLARSHIPS THIS YEAR, FIVE TO COLONEL RICHARDSON AND FIVE TO STUDENTS AT NORTH CAROLINA, AND THEIR GOAL IS TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING CAROLINE COUNTY STUDENTS.
YOU KNOW, IT'S A 12 TO 5 ON THE 22ND? ON JULY 22ND..
IN THE CAFETERIA, I BELIEVE, AT LOCKERMAN.
SO, RACHEL, WE'RE GOING TO ADD THAT TO OUR SPREADSHEET.
THAT'S GOOD. THANK YOU FOR THAT.
ALL RIGHT. A LOT OF OTHER MEET THE TEACHER BACK TO SCHOOL.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHTS ARE GETTING POPULATED IN.
WE'RE WE'RE KIND OF AT THAT, I DARE SAY IT, BUT WE'RE KIND OF AT THE HALFWAY POINT.
WELL, LOOK AT THAT AS THE GLASS HALF FULL FOR THE STUDENTS.
YES. FOR EVERYBODY ELSE WHO'S ON SUMMER VACATION.
VERY GOOD. ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD, EVERYONE? ALL RIGHT. GOOD. THE NEXT BOARD MEETING.
WHAT IS THAT DATE? SO THE BOARD WILL HAVE THEIR RETREAT ON AUGUST 2ND AND THE TIME FOR THAT.
I DON'T THINK WE SAID WE SAID WE TYPICALLY START AT NINE.
WE ALWAYS SLUG 9 TO 3, BUT WE ARE.
THAT'S MORE OF A WORST CASE, NOT A WORST CASE, BUT.
RIGHT. AND THAT'LL PLAN FOR THAT.
SO THEN AFTER THAT WOULD BE THE SEPTEMBER MEETING.
VERY GOOD. THERE'S NO UNFINISHED BUSINESS SO WE CAN ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO ADJOURN.
MOVE. WE ADJOURN. WE HAVE A SECOND.
SECOND. I'M NOT ASKING FOR ANY DISCUSSION ON THAT ONE.
MOTION CARRIES. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
SIMMONS. AND WE HAVE SOME PEOPLE TO.
