Dr. Simmons will report out on highlights from the last month.
Directors will highlight important events from their departments.
The students report on activities from their respective schools.
Chief Financial Officer Erin Thornton will review the most recent finance report as of September 30, 2022.
Supervisor of Human Resources Rob Willoughby will give a staffing update and present the following personnel items to the Board for approval:
45 students from the Colonel Richardson High School Band will perform at Music in the Park, a national competition in Williamsburg, Virginia from May 17-20, 2023.
The members of the Caroline County Board of Education desire to hear the views and have the advice of interested citizens. The public comment session is held at each Board meeting for that purpose.
In-Person Public Comment - The time allotted for the Public Comment portion of the agenda is no more than 30 minutes total. The Board of Education does not engage in a discussion of the matter being brought to it but will, if appropriate, direct the Superintendent to respond at a later time.
Individuals interested in participating during the Public Comment portion may sign up in advance by emailing publiccomment@ccpsstaff.org or by signing in at the podium prior to the beginning of the meeting. Individuals will be called to the podium in the order in which they registered by email or sign-in.

Written Public Comment emailed to publiccomment@ccpsstaff.org – Emails must be received no later than noon one day prior to the Board meeting, and must clearly state in the subject line or body of the email 'For Public Comment.' Emails will be provided to Board members prior to the start of the meeting and attached to the agenda. Written comments will not be read aloud during the meeting.
The proposed contract is a result of several months of effort by both the Board of Education and the LLC to reach an agreement to provide transportation services that are fair and affordable. This contract will take us through September 1, 2027.

Each year, members of the Board of Education and school principals alternate the responsibility of making nominations to the Citizens Advisory Committee. A Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is required by the Interagency Committee for School Construction (IAC) to be updated and approved annually by all local boards of education. Following the Board of Education’s acceptance and approval, the CIP is also submitted to the County Commissioners for its acceptance.
The proposed FY24 CIP reflects the Board’s priorities as shown in the previously approved Educational Facilities Master Plan. A summary of all current and future years projects is included, Form 102.4, and can be found on page 4 of the document. The FY24 CIP requests funding for the full replacement of the roof at Federalsburg Elementary School.

Director of Instruction Lindsey McCormick will give an update on class sizes for the 22-23 school year.
