The Board president will call the meeting to order and note Board member attendance.
The Caroline County Board of Education will meet in Closed Session pursuant to state government under the Open Meetings Act (General Provisions Article 3-305) for the following reasons:
(1) To discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals.
(8) to consult with staff, consultants, or other individuals about pending or potential litigation.
Ms. Michele Wayman has been appointed by Governor Larry Hogan effective January 1, 2021 for the remainder of a term of 4 years that began on December 3, 2018.
Ms. Kathy Dill has been re-appointed by Governor Larry Hogan for another 4 year term.
Ms. Terry Lord, Clerk of Circuit Court will perform the swearing in process.
The Board will approve the agenda with an addendum, if applicable.
The minutes for the December 1, 2020 Regular Board meeting and December 15, 2020 Closed Session will be presented for approval.
The President of the Board of Education, Mr. Newcomb, will provide an update regarding an Open Meetings Act complaint filed.

This award provides for current and additional bandwidth needed to supplement existing internet services to CCPS offices and schools over CCPS’ WAN. CCPS intends to seek E-Rate reimbursement for all E-Rate eligible products and services provided under this contract. The funds associated with this project are provided for in the unrestricted operating budget.
The bid process and procedures complied with Board policy and applicable state laws and regulations.

2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
The Maryland General Assembly will convene in Annapolis, Maryland beginning January 13, 2021 and will run the traditional 90 days. Dr. Saelens will highlight the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) Top Priorities for the 2021 Legislative Session.
Mr. Milton Nagel, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services will provide a report of how CARES funding was used during the pandemic.
Mr. Milton Nagel, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services will provide the Board with a report on indoor air quality of building.
Ms. Debbie Siachos, Supervisor of Human Resources, will provide a report on current telework administrative procedure.
The members of the Caroline County Board of Education desire to hear the views and have the advice of interested citizens. The public comment session is held at each Board meeting for that purpose.
